HITTING THE ROAD AGAIN

It was fantastic to be back on the road again this week after 7 months of being apart due to the pandemic. Little did we know when we said goodbye to each other after our thoroughly enjoyable gig at Congleton Cricket Club for Congleton Unplugged in late February just what was coming! We should have had 4 gigs in a week shortly afterwards, the first of which would have served as our album launch gig but instead we had to wait until September for our next booking, finally returning to playing live together at The Upside Down Jazz Cellar on 6th September. What a crowd and what a venue! With stunning views across Devon whilst we played it reminded us just how much fun we'd missed. We even managed to play 3 gigs in a week to boot, also taking in a favorite of our's - The Borehole in Stone, playing outside for the first time, and The Gresley Arms in Alsagers Bank where the original incarnation of the band made it's first live appearance over 8 years ago and again the stunning views there where a real treat. Here's to hopefully more gigs to come. We already have 2 dates in now for October at Birmingham Jazz Festival and hope to add more if we can.
See you down the road...

Great fun had last weekend with 6 gigs starting with a Peaky Blinders night and Gin Festival at Biddulph Town Hall, Staffs followed by 4 performances at Birmingham Jazz Festival at The Mailbox (with lots of people sketching us as we played!), Quinto lounge in Sutton Coldfield, the lovely setting of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery's Edwardian Tea Rooms and finally at the Slug and Lettuce in Brindleyplace. BRYONY JOINS THE RANKS
The constantly changing thing that is the JLJB takes itself in yet another direction as we welcome in the amazing Bryony Rose Ward as a permanent member of the ...band. Those of you who saw her amazing performances with us at Bude Jazz Festival, M&J Promotions Winter Jazz Festival in Paignton and Kingsbridge Jazz Club to name just a few know exactly what a huge asset she will be to the band. We’ll be keeping it in the family too as she’s also the sister of our jug wielding harmonica blower Liam Ward
A massive thank you must go out to the wonderful Sarah Miller who’s contribution of the last two years have pushed us forward to new musical heights and who has always been
tremendous fun to have with us.
She’ll continue to dep for us
in the future so she’ll not be
disappearing completely and
fans of Sarah will still get
a few chances to see her with
the band in the coming months
in particular
